14 best meal deals at chain restaurants for America’s 250th birthday this Fourth of July

We earn commissions for transactions made through links in this post. Here's more on how we make money.

It's July 3rd, you have no plans for dinner, and a cooler that is still sitting empty in the garage. Eating out this summer costs more than it used to. Restaurant menu prices were running about 3.5 percent higher in May 2026 than they were a year earlier, which makes a casual holiday weekend a noticeably pricier one to eat your way through than it was in 2025.

This year happens to work in your favor anyway. The country turns 250 in 2026, and chains have spent the spring rolling out deals built around that number, $17.76 meals, $2.50 menus, and free items tied to the date the Declaration of Independence was signed. Some of it is gimmicky. Most of it is real money off a real meal.

Most of what is below runs through the July 4 weekend itself. A handful stretch across the entire month of July, so the savings do not have to stop on the fifth.

Sonic's America $2.50 menu covers four full items

Sonic is running a limited-time value menu through July 12 to mark the country's 250th birthday, and the pricing is about as simple as it gets. Every item on the lineup costs $2.50, with the discount applied automatically at checkout whether you order through the app, in the drive-in, or at a stall.

The menu includes a Red, White & Blue Slush Float made with blue raspberry flavor, vanilla soft serve, and real strawberries, along with a Jr Double Cheeseburger, an All-American Hot Dog, and a side of onion rings. Order one item or all four. There is no minimum purchase and no rewards signup required, though joining Sonic Rewards through the app does add points on top.

Sonic is also giving out limited-edition 20-ounce cups with aany drink purchase this summer, each one printed with a different American landmark. The company is backing the celebration with its own donation too: the Sonic Foundation plans to give $250,000 through DonorsChoose in July to fund history-focused classroom projects, funded by a portion of every drink, slush, and shake sold through the program all season.

Applebee's brings the $1 Dollarita back for all of July

Applebee's signature cheap margarita is back for the entire month, dine-in only. The Dollarita is made with tequila, triple sec, and lime, and it costs $1 for guests 21 and older at participating locations nationwide.

The drink first showed up as a short promotional run and became one of the chain's most talked-about offers, partly because $1 for a real margarita, not a watered-down version, is hard to find anywhere in casual dining right now. It is available all day, every day in July, with no limit on how many you can order beyond what your server is comfortable with.

It pairs naturally with Applebee's ongoing 2 for $25 deal, which covers two entrees plus a shareable appetizer, so a full dinner with a drink can land well under $20 a person if you split it across a table. Tax and gratuity are not included, and participation can vary slightly by location, so it is worth a quick call if you are planning around a specific Applebee's.

Bad Daddy's Burger Bar drops its classic to $1 on the Fourth

On July 4 only, dine-in guests at Bad Daddy's Burger Bar can get the BD's All-American Burger with any classic side for $1. That is not a discount on a small burger either. It is the chain's standard all-American patty, usually priced well into double digits once you add a side.

The same day, select pints of Bad Daddy's Amber Ale drop to $2.50, which makes the holiday one of the cheapest days of the year to eat at this particular chain if you time it right. Bad Daddy's has a smaller national footprint than some of the names on this list, so it is worth checking that your nearest location is participating before you build a whole evening around it.

The deal is dine-in only, which fits the chain's general format anyway since most locations lean into a full-service bar and grill setup rather than quick counter service. If you already had Independence Day plans that involve sitting down somewhere with a TV for the holiday, this is a reasonable one to fold into them.

Bobby's Burgers prices its Angus patty at $7.04

Bobby Flay's burger chain is running its own nod to the signing of the Declaration with a burger priced at $7.04. From July 1 through July 4, the Palace Classic Burger is available for $7.04, built on a full 6-ounce Certified Angus Beef patty rather than the smaller patties a lot of fast-casual burger chains use to hit a low price point.

Bobby's Burgers only operates a small number of locations nationwide, so this is not a deal everyone will be near, but for people who live close to one of them, a 6-ounce Angus beef burger for under $8 is a strong price relative to what the chain normally charges. The Palace Classic comes with the standard toppings the chain is known for rather than a stripped-down version built just for the promotion.

There is no rewards signup or app required to get the price. It is simply what the burger costs at the register from July 1 through the holiday itself, which makes it one of the easier deals on this list to actually use without any extra steps.

Dog Haus pairs a hot dog and a beer for $17.76

Dog Haus built its whole July around the anniversary, calling it Glizzy SZN 250. The centerpiece is the 1776 Pairing, available on July 4 only. Any dog or sausage paired with a pint of beer costs $17.76, and the same price applies if you pair any burger with a pint instead.

The deal continues in a smaller form for the rest of July. Add any slider to an entree purchase for $2.50 throughout the month, which is a meaningful discount since Dog Haus sliders are not usually priced as an afterthought item. The brand is also leaning into the calendar elsewhere this summer, with National Hot Dog Day on July 15 bringing a free dog for Haus Rewards members and a buy-one-get-one dog reward the following day that runs through July 31.

For anyone hosting a cookout who would rather skip cooking entirely, the 1776 Pairing works as a one-stop dinner and drink for under $18, which is a hard number to beat anywhere that involves table service and a real pour rather than a can.

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill serves a full rack of ribs for $21.95

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill Ribs

This one requires a free rewards signup, but the payoff is worth the thirty seconds it takes. From July 2 through July 6, Firebirds Inner Circle members can get a full rack of baby back ribs, or a half order of BBQ chicken, with fries and fresh fruit for $21.95.

That is a full entree at a sit-down grill chain, not a sample plate, and it is priced well under what a full rack typically runs on Firebirds' regular menu. Joining Inner Circle Rewards costs nothing and takes only an email address, so there is no real reason to skip the signup if there is a location near you and you were already planning to eat out over the holiday weekend.

Firebirds operates as a full-service restaurant with a wood-fired grill as its main draw, so this is a better fit for a sit-down family dinner than a quick grab-and-go meal. If ribs are part of your Fourth of July tradition anyway, this is one of the more substantial discounts on this entire list relative to what the meal normally costs.

BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse adds a Stars & Stripes Pizookie

BJ's has been rolling out patriotic menu items gradually since early June rather than packing everything into one short window. The Stars & Stripes Pizookie, made with vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries, strawberry puree, and red, white, and blue sprinkles, has been on the menu since June 11, giving it a longer run than most of the other limited-time desserts on this list.

The chain followed that with a Firework Fizz, a non-alcoholic drink with blue raspberry flavor, strawberry popping boba, and whipped cream, which joined the menu on June 25. A seasonal cold IPA called Grass Attack rounds out the lineup for anyone old enough to drink and looking for something other than a soda or a milkshake.

None of these are tied to a single date the way some of the other deals on this list are, which means there is no rush to use them before the Fourth specifically. They are simply available as part of the regular menu through the summer, so they fit naturally into a casual dinner any night you happen to be at a BJ's.

Original ChopShop cuts kids meals to $2.50 after 4pm

For families looking to eat healthier without paying full price for kids who barely finish a plate anyway, Original ChopShop has a simple fix. Kids meals cost just $2.50 with the purchase of an entree after 4pm, from July 1 through July 5.

Rewards members get an additional break on top of that. Anyone signed into their Chop Rewards account can save $2.50 on any menu item for themselves by entering the code FUELTHE4TH during online or in-app checkout. The two discounts stack in the sense that a family ordering dinner together can apply both: the kids meal price after 4pm and the rewards code on an adult entree.

Original ChopShop runs a fast-casual format built around bowls, salads, and grain plates rather than fried fast food, so this is a useful option for anyone trying to celebrate the holiday without abandoning whatever eating habits they are trying to stick to the rest of the summer. The rewards program is free to join if you are not already signed up.

Firehouse Subs makes your second sub $2.50

Firehouse Subs

From June 29 through July 4, Firehouse Subs is running a buy-one-get-one deal that knocks the second sandwich down to a flat $2.50 rather than making it free outright. Buy one small or medium sub and get a second small or medium sub for $2.50, which works well for two people splitting an order or one person stocking up on lunch for the next day.

The offer excludes two of the chain's pricier specialty subs, the Steak & Cheese Melt and the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket, so it applies to the bulk of the regular menu rather than the entire lineup. Still, that leaves most of the classic and specialty subs Firehouse is known for, including its hook and ladder and Italian options.

No app, code, or rewards signup is required to use this one. It is simply the price at checkout when you order two qualifying subs within the date window, which makes it one of the lowest-effort deals on this entire list for anyone who already eats at Firehouse regularly.

PJ's Coffee sells a Firecracker Lemonade for $2.50

For something that is not beer, a burger, or fried food, PJ's Coffee has a seasonal drink running from June 29 through July 5. A 16-ounce Firecracker Lemonade is available for $2.50 at participating locations, which is a meaningfully lower price than most specialty drinks at coffee chains run this time of year.

PJ's Coffee has a strong presence in the South, particularly Louisiana, where the chain originated, though locations exist more broadly across the country at this point. The Firecracker Lemonade leans into the same red, white, and blue branding showing up everywhere else on this list, though the exact flavor profile varies somewhat depending on where you order it.

Because the price applies at participating locations rather than a confirmed nationwide rollout, it is worth checking with your local shop before counting on it, particularly if you are not a regular customer there already. For anyone who already stops by PJ's for a daily coffee, swapping in this lemonade for a week is an easy way to try something seasonal at a lower price than usual.

Jack in the Box gives rewards members a free fry

Jack in the Box is keeping its Fourth of July offer simple and low-commitment. From July 3 through July 5, Jack Pack Rewards members can get a free fry, any size or shape, with any in-app purchase of $1 or more.

The phrase “any size or shape” matters here because Jack in the Box sells both regular fries and curly fries depending on the location and promotion cycle, and this offer does not restrict you to the cheaper option. The catch is that it is limited to one redemption per account for the entire three-day window, so it works better as a small bonus tacked onto a meal you were already planning to order than as a standalone deal worth building a trip around.

Jack Pack Rewards costs nothing to join and the signup happens directly in the app, so there is little reason to skip it if you are ordering from Jack in the Box at all over the holiday weekend. The $1 minimum purchase requirement is about as low a bar as these offers tend to set.

Hurricane Grill & Wings knocks 10 percent off party platters

For anyone hosting rather than just feeding their own household, Hurricane Grill & Wings has a catering-sized discount built for the holiday. Party platters of $50 or more get a 10 percent discount when ordered online by July 3 with the promo code USA2026, for pickup on July 4.

Ten percent does not sound dramatic on its own, but on a platter order that is already running $50 or higher, it adds up to a real dollar amount, and wing platters in particular tend to be priced per piece in a way that makes even a modest percentage discount meaningful across a large order. The code applies specifically to online orders, so phone or in-person orders likely will not qualify the same way.

The timing window is tight and worth noting carefully. The order has to go in online by July 3, with pickup specifically on July 4, rather than any day across the holiday weekend. If you are planning a cookout or a watch party for the holiday itself, building the food order around this deadline is the way to actually capture the discount.

Teriyaki Madness pays rewards members in bonus points

Teriyaki Madness skipped the free-item route and went with a points bonus instead. On July 4 and July 5, Mad Rewards members can earn 250 bonus points when they spend $15 or more on an online order, with the offer available exclusively through online ordering rather than in-person or phone orders.

The number 250 lines up deliberately with the anniversary theme running through nearly every promotion this summer. Whether 250 points translates into real savings depends on how the chain's rewards tiers are structured, since points-based programs vary in how much a given point is actually worth toward a future order, but it stacks on top of whatever you are already ordering at no extra cost.

Because this is a bonus on top of a regular order rather than a discount on the order itself, it works best for people who were already planning to order Teriyaki Madness online for the holiday rather than something worth changing your plans around. Mad Rewards membership is free and can be set up in the app in a few minutes if you are not signed up already.

Logan's Roadhouse turns a $25 gift card into $17.76

Logan's Roadhouse is running several offers at once rather than a single headline deal, and the gift card angle is the one with the most actual cash value. From July 3 through July 5, guests can purchase a $25 digital gift card for $17.76, a discount of roughly 29 percent on money you can spend at any Logan's Roadhouse later.

That makes it one of the more flexible deals on this list, since a discounted gift card is not tied to a specific menu item the way most of these promotions are. You can use it for a full steak dinner down the road rather than being locked into a burger or a single side dish during the holiday window itself.

The same three-day window also brings a limited-time Red, White & Blue Cake made with layers of vanilla cake and white chocolate mousse, along with the chain's signature rolls served with a festive Red, White & Blue Butter while supplies last. Buying the discounted gift card and using part of it toward dinner that same visit is a reasonable way to combine both offers in one trip.

None of these deals take much planning, just paying attention to dates before the holiday weekend passes. A few dollars saved at a dozen different counters adds up to a noticeably cheaper Fourth of July without anyone going hungry.
